You Gotta Be...

Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
Stand up and be counted
Don't be ashamed to cry

You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day

Herald what your mother said
Reading the books your father read
Try to solve the puzzles in your own sweet time
Some may have more cash than you
Others take a different view
My oh my, hey, hey, hey

You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day

Don't ask no questions, it goes on without you
Leaving you behind if you can't stand the pace
The world keeps on spinning
You can't stop it, if you try to
This time it's danger staring you in the face

Remember
Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears
My oh my hey, hey, hey

You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold, you gotta be wiser
You gotta be hard, you gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day

Yup, this is the song I listened to first thing in the morning on my way to work. The song is You Gotta Be by Des'ree. It's going to be a tough day at work today and this is just the song to put me in high spirits! It would give anyone a good boost and ready to face the challenge! Wouldn't you agree?

They glorified adultery in a society that is largely conservative. Secondly, rani mukherjee was probably paid only to cry in EVERY scene! Thirdly, Amitabh is a Hugh Hefner wannabe, but also tries to show he's PURE at heart by missing his dead wife and sobbing. I haven't seen such bullshit in a long time.

@ ella
You do not want to WATCH the movie.
There are moe gaping holes in the plot than a beggars underwear.
Poor Karan Johar tried to go all grown up from his bubble gum romances (which in hindsight are more palatable than this rot).
Not enough maturity to handle such a sensitive issue.
it has its moments, but those are few and far between.
Shahrukh big football star (5 million contract) gets hit by a car, and for the next 50 seconds or so, as we are slowly (painfully)drawn into his eyes. No one comes to his aid. Evn the shmuck who hit him.
So we have Mr.Pissy Offy bitter - I am a cripple, my career has gone to the kutta, while his wife wears the pants at home.
Marriage crumbling numero uno.
Rani Mukherjee who looks lovely in the movie btw is married to Abhishek Bachan who looks even lovelier (positively edible). He is a loving caring wonderful adoring husband.
What is her justification for adultery? NONE!
Other than being an ungrateful cow.
Amitabh has really lost his marbles, and plays this hedonistic, playboy and at times you are just squirming in your seat with the overdose of Viagra.
The only decent person Kiron Kher is given a very minute role playing a caterer (HUM TUM again?)and SRK's mom.But she makes her presence felt.
And then when they have done the deed (SRK and RANI)after much foreplay of being we are just buddies with a undercurrent of we need to GET IT ON!
They get it on, get caught, confess and then need to do the PENANCE for being adulterous by playing the sacrificing suffering martyrs. Wheres the innocent party's (Abhishek and Preiti)get on with their lives and move on.
Sorry anyway you serve it. Adultery is adultery.

I heart this song ;-)

I am actually singing it in the office now, so THANKS.

Anyone knows a remedy to that? I mean when I start humming a song I just cant get it out of my head!! Sometimes I go on singing the same tune for days until I get sick of myself, really.

@qatarcat.. yeah I would like to know a remedy to that as well. It happens to me a lot! Like 2 weeks back, I heard the song I Feel Good by James Brown on the radio and I was humming and singing the chorus over and over the whole day. I was singing the song in my mind while sitting in a meeting as well. Oh well, i'm jabbering on again.. have to go for lunch!
