Trip to Hatta!
With nothing to do last Friday, the day before Eid al Adha, me and 3 colleagues from the office decided to go to Hatta. It was a last minute plan (well, hardly a plan if it's last minute!) but I have to admit we all had an excellent day out! We left early morning at 8am and reached home at 8pm! On the way, at about 10am we had our breakfast in the car, which was Puri and Halwa (and parathas) on the highway in Oman territory. We went to the Hatta dam, the Hatta fort museum and then to the best part of the trip, the wadis!! Through the rocky mountains, on long, winding and twisting, dusty roads. The weather was cloudy with tiny rays of sunlight coming through. We went into Oman, into a couple of villages, where all the locals wave at you. They know you're outsiders.

It seems like you guys had fun!!The place looks great! Last time I went to 7atta, I went with a bunch of scardy cats! They thought the ride up the mountains was too steep or something! LOL We ended up spending the day at the Hatta Fort Hotel! So much for visiting the Wadis!
That sucks! If you don't go to the Wadis, then you haven't really seen the real thing!! It's better to go in a 4WD, coz we saw a lot of sedans stuck in the water!

Amazing drive, did you take a right from the shell gas station and then drive up to the track that goes to the camp site in oman, thats a really nice place with clear blue rock pools that are over 10 feet deep.

@D-reb... umm, I dont remember seeing a shell gas station. Maybe I didn't notice it. There are so many routes going left and right from the main route in the wadis. We didn't try all of them. Next time we will take a different road.
